Exploring Foundation Models Framework

4 hours, online workshop (recorded) to show you how to use Apple's new on-device AI framework. I have built a complete sample app over the past month (https://github.com/rudrankriyam/Foundation-Models-Framework-Example) and we will build on top of it to see how everything works.

You will be added to the community group to ask questions and queries related to Foundation Models, talk about what you are building, and let me know what you want to learn about.

Agenda

Basics

We will learn how to start a session, send a prompt, and stream the response back. It will not be covered in detail as the WWDC sessions already provide a good base.

Structured Data with @Generable

We will learn how to easily parse responses, stream partially generated data with type-safe Swift data structures back from the LLM.

Dynamic Schemas

We will explore DynamicGenerationSchema to build the structures to make our app(s) incredibly flexible.

Tool Calling

My favorite and the most powerful part. We will give the model "tools" to interact with system services and external APIs.

I will live-stream as I walk you through different techniques and lessons I have learned over the past month experimenting with this model.
